IN what is the biggest launch in the women's magazine market since Marie Claire 11 years ago, handbag-size Glamour hit the street. The glossy is aimed at "women who are 27, think they are still 27, desperately yearn to be 27". But is it destined to be a winner in an already saturated market? Who better to ask than two Coventry "glamour girls"? Feature writer CATHERINE TURNER reports
FRIENDS Brenda Mahoney and Kara Allen admit to being "glamour girls" by definition.
They're young, stylish and love to gossip about the rich and famous.
Exactly the kind of young women publishers Conde Nast hope will read their new magazine.
But would they switch loyalties from Hello! and OK!? The Evening Telegraph puts them to the test.

ADVERTISING rep Brenda Mahoney, from Wyken, Coventry, is 27.
She enjoys socialising, likes to know what's going on and loves to shop.
Her favourite TV programme is Friends, the last CD she bought was All Saints' Saints and Sinners and Gladiator was the last film she saw at the cinema.
Brenda reads Hello! OK! and occasionally Cosmopolitan.
But does she think there is room for another glossy women's magazine - even if it does fit into a handbag?
After flicking through, Brenda says 'yes' she would definitely add it to her monthly reading list.
She said: "I really liked it. I like the fact that it's small - it's different! It's not something I would carry around in my handbag though.
"I'm more likely to sit at home and read it with a big glass of wine. It would take me at least a week to read.
"I love the tips on make-up and how to apply it. I liked the beauty and fashion tips from model and make-up artist Jemma Kid and Gwyneth Paltrow. There was also a good interview with Kate Winslet.
"I do not think there are too many different women's magazines because they are all aimed at different type of people
"I do love Hello! and OK! - I love the gossip. My mates and I are always gossiping about the stars.
"The celebrities who I always think look fabulous are Madonna and Jennifer Lopez. But the most glamorous of them all is Cameron Diaz - she always looks gorgeous!
"If this magazine has a failing it's that it doesn't have enough celebrity gossip and I did think it was very similar to Cosmopolitan."
Brenda added: "I think I'm more of a Glamour girl than a Cosmo girl Silver Cufflinks - definitely after reading the magazine's quiz!
"My main hobby is shopping - I love it! The shops I like best are Miss Selfridges, Top Shop, Diesel and Jeffrey Rogers."
CASE STUDY TWO
KARA ALLEN does not know any girl who would carry a magazine around in her handbag all day.
The 23-year-old blonde telesales operator, from Allesley Park, Coventry, thinks it is a huge contradiction that the latest handbags featured in the new magazine could hold nothing bigger than a mobile phone - never mind a glossy magazine!
She said: "Not very many women would carry their magazine in
